Hello,
to shake things up a bit, I thought Slavinski might be an interesting figure to discuss.
Slavinski appears in Beyond the Mauve Zone as the magical son of Michael Bertiaux who played a role in decyphering the word S'lba.
His early books on Golden Dawn (or rather Stella Matutina)-style magic were the gateway drug to occultism in the former Yugoslavia - including my own. Later, he developed his "gnostic intensive", which I didn't have a chance to try, and a number of "spiritual technologies", some of which I have.
Interestingly, he seemed pretty low-key about his involvement with Kenneth Grant/TOTO (and I don't remember him writing about Michael Bertiaux), but he was someone open about his encounters with Scientology, and wrote positively about Freezone Scientology in particular. I kinda think his PEAT system has a bit of Ken Ogger in it, but perhaps I'm just seeing it.
So this is my little piece of the puzzle - thank you for any thoughts and perspectives.

Hi Basil,
There has been some discussion of Slavinski's work on the forums quite some time ago. Have you seen "Zivorad Experiments" in KG-Published Work, Other section? Not too enlightening, perhaps. I am fairly sure that I had something to say about his 'The Dawn of Aivaz' as well, but have not been able to find it right now.
Slavinski died just over two years ago, of course. I will try to get back to you on this.

Hi Stephen,
thanks for the reply. I'm not aware of anything titled "Zivorad experiments" in KG, I'll try to look them up. I did read some of Slavinski's own accounts of things described in The Mauve Zone, which cropped up here and there in his books.
I have access to The Dawn of Aivaz in the original language, so that sounds like the next book to read.
I was saddened to hear of Slavinski's illness and passing. Around 2018, I had hoped to meet him through a PEAT student, but life took a different turn.

Actually doing a post earlier but I had several tabs open and carelessly closed the wrong one - losing my post, of course. A short burst of Thelemic swearing ensued. Here is a brief reprise.
My first introduction to the writings of Slavinski was his article "Psychonauts in the World of Dreams" published in STARFIRE Vol.1 No.4, 1991 e.v. (In fact, it preceded my own article in that issue, "Dagon Rising"). It appeared originally in the Yugoslavian magazine TANJE. It is an interesting and generous account of the work of Kenneth Grant, leading in to some information on the work of the Ecclesia Gnostica Alba with Aivaz and his identification with Lam.
This work attracted the attention of Michael Bertiaux and Grant discusses the subsequent communications between himself, Slavinski and Bertiaux in chapters 12-14 of 'Beyond the Mauve Zone' (1999). It makes fascinating reading on many levels. Bertiaux had great enthusiasm for Slavinski's work and its development, then suddenly his interest appears to have evaporated.
Grant discusses the Seal of the E.G.A. on pages 241-2 of BTMZ and its Typhonian symbolism. I attempted to find an illustration of it online yesterday, but didn't, which was disappointing.

Thank you for the interesting information, Stephen. Unbelievable that the E.G.A. seal is impossible to find. The closest thing I could find is this diploma: static.kupindoslike.com/Povelja-Bela-Gnosticka-Crkva_slika_O_59642879.jpg. The diploma has two versions (the coloured seal and the rubber stamp) which are barely legible but at least complement Grant's description with shapes and colours. The motto "asta Aivaz vina" is illegible in both.

Well thanks for the photograph, Basil.
There was an announcement of the appointment of Slavinski as X Degree O.T.O. for Yugoslavia, dated June 1990 in STARFIRE I, 5 (1994). The certificate gave his Order name as Zivo-Aivaz 65 '.'
And in STARFIRE II, I (1996) there was a short article by Slavinski on "The Gnostic Intensive".
And here is a photograph of Grant in his study with Slavinski, in the later 1980s, I would think.
From the labirintostellare website.
