Hello Friends!
It was some form of "Arachne's Thread Backward" (Link-Surfing guided by Intuition) which lead me here. There seems to be an entity with a magnetic field around it, and it always leads me to communities around Kenneth Grant. So it seems to me that Michael Staley is still alive and had a lot of contact with Kenneth Grant in his lifetime.
The reason why I am here is because I am researching Occultism, Magick and resources needed to understand Kenneth Grant's writings.
So my initial Question is:
What else do I have to read and understand and practice before trying to read the Typhonian Trilogies? And another: What is the recommended first reading of Kenneth Grant himself?
With Love,
Frater ibn Azathoth From the Nameless Mist (Radevormwald, Germany)

Hello Frater ibn Azathoth,
Yes, it seems to most of us that Michael Staley is still alive and even more so to Michael himself.
Back in the early 1970s I was getting into Magick and reading about Crowley, and then reading some Crowley, and thinking is this just living in the past when I discovered a Thelemic journal called 'Sothis' and its references to the work of Kenneth Grant. On a trip to London in 1975 I bought his first two books and was truly impressed. My point is that whatever occult background you already have - and I detect a little Lovecraft there - you just get stuck in, and where better to start than his first published work, 'The Magical Revival' itself. It introduced much new material to me but it is a relatively straightforward work and the logical place to start.
Love is the law, love under will.
Stephen
ps. according to Wikipedia. Radevormwald seems to have had its troubles in the past, but I do like the Lion with the double tail.

Hello Stephen,
I am very happy about your reply and eventually getting in touch with spirits of the Typhonian Current. This is the great thing about the Internet in combination with a Laptop, it's really like a spaceship, if one finds a way to eliminate all the distractions.
I wouldn't want to try to elaborate extensively on my occult background including all the "wrong turns". There is no formal education. The first author who really got me was R.A. Wilson. All the acquaintances later turned out to all be parts of his trilogy "Illuminatus!", even if sometimes only implicitly.
Something happened April 2020 in Lisbon... I took two trips of acid at once... The house was a ruin which originally housed 10 workers. At that time we were only 3 and one would leave soon. People were becoming increasingly uneasy so they left. During that night in April I gave up all hope and entered an hopeless area of existence. I remember crying "You are so right honey, this is all so fucking pointless!", and the letters of the name of my exgirlfriend "Nada" (which means literally nothing) swirled around me like "D", "N", "A" in all possible combinations. Eitan, the Israelian, told me weeks before, that I am the virus. And in that night I realized how this is eternal reproducing crap, this Unity of Being, and how certain people of a certain current are really the virus, and how the counter-current is really the antivirus.
The next day I woke up and felt that I have to research a picture, a graphic, which I found that day. It stared at me and told me to follow him, to research it, to look at it. Later it turned out to be created by Hagen von Thulien, I found it in a reference to a book about Voudon Gnosis of David Beth. All I have been doing since then is to connect the dots.
Thank you so much for your pointers.
93! 93/93
Frater ibn Azathoth

I would recommend the Carfax Monograph, the Bibliography, and anything that Von Zos has put out on Grant. Gauntlett's essays and work in particular are very lucid and approachable.

Yes, I'm still very much alive. I first met Kenneth in the mid 1970s, became a member of the Typhonian O.T.O. in 1976, became Kenneth's lieutenant in the Order is the early 1980s, and became his publisher in the mid 1990s. As such we had a lot of contact. I think that the collection of essays collated and edited by Henrik Bogdan – Servants of the Star & the Snake – is very useful as an Introduction and a "way in" to Kenneth's work. There are essays by various people, and each essay focuses on a particular topic in Grant's writings across the Typhonian Trilogies. As for the book with which to start, that would be in my opinion The Magical Revival. In fact, I'd recommend reading the Trilogies volumes in sequence

Ditto on starting with The Magical Revival and working your way through the trilogies. This will open countless new doorways that you might choose to pass through. Michael Staley, nice to see you are still manifesting on this side of the Tree in between those excursions into Universe B....
