In Nightside of Eden we find the enigmatic G.I. Gurdjieff being mentioned twice while in Outside the Circles of Time we find him mentioned no less than five times and always in a positive light. David Hall's superb book Beelzebub and the Beast provides the best analysis (only serious analysis?) of the congruence between Gurdjieff's Fourth Way and Crowley ever written.
Cleary, Grant was familiar with Gurdjieff's writings, as he specifically mention All and Everything: Beelzebub's Tales to his Grandson. Being on medical leave for the past weeks I've been re-reading Hall's book as it confirms the fruit of some of my recent practices. I'm very interested to hear from others on this formu regarding such connections between 4th Way and Thelema. It seems clear beyond doubt that Crowley's notion of HGA and "True Will" are synonomous with Gurdjieff's waking up and "creating a soul".
