Hello everybody again, especially Stephen, who advised me to re-open my account (the former one as zothyrianus77). In the process I found out the problems I was having with my settings/avatar were because of the Flash Player that's no longer supported. Installing the new version would cost money I am not willing to spend.

Hello brownjenkin,
Well I am pleased to learn that you have discovered the problem and are back in business.

Back in business, yes. You know, Stephen, after reading some more in The Incoming of the Aeon of Maat book I couldn't but reach the conclusion, at last, that Frater Achad went pretty batty indeed. Judging by some of his letters, his was a case of "monomania". He was obssessed and obssessing with one particular point of view to the exclusion of everything else. An odd case, to be sure. In his letters he sounds lucid most of the time, which is why I wasn't sure what to make of it - until the book finally came out.

That is quite a substantial post, Brown Jenkin, and there is much of interest there, so I think that you should have considered putting it on the 'Influence of Achad' board mentioned previously. While I appreciate that you were responding to our past remarks on the Achad correspondence in The Incoming of the Aeon of Maat people may get the impression that we are having a private conversation here and not feel inclined to join in.
I am still not ready to express fully my thoughts on what Achad had to say and was actually achieving, but seeing that word "monomania" has to prompt me to say that this is precisely my own conclusion about him - and having a sardonic sense of humour I cannot help noting that the Word MONOMANIA also contains the Word MANIO.
This entire business of "Aeonology", differing ideas on the succession of Aeons and such can turn into something of a quagmire of opinions that can never be completely resolved or satisfied.
Very interesting to learn that you have translated LIBER ALEPH into Slovenian. What can this mean?
Also noted that you still have not tackled adding an avatar to your account.

Stephen, thank you, I guess you are right about my previous post finding a more suited home in the Influence of Achad environment/thread.
What can translating Liber CXI mean? I am not sure I understand the question, to me it meant quite some thumbing through the dictionary in order to, finally, see the translation published (ZALOŽBA IBIS, Ljubljana 2017 E.V.) There are actually two translations in existence, but that is a another story.
As to my avatar: there won't be any further avatar tackling, I am good with the default one.

I wish to thank the kind individual who, on Stephen's (THANK YOU) initiative, contacted me on behalf of my avatar-related problems. I understand they have to do with the/my browser indeed. A program called Flash Player seems to be the problem, the version my computer recognizes has been outdated and is no longer supported by the providers. When I tried to solve the inconvenience, I found out installing the new version would cost money. At present I am, however, unable to spend a sum, any sum, towards solving a problem that is, after all, a minor episode in my computer universe, although I must admit that I get quite frustrated at times when I think about it. Again, thank you both!

Welcome to the forums, brownjenkin. Monomania? Not in my opinion. I find Achad's work rich and diverse. Most of the letters to Yorke are taken up with discussions of his relationship with Crowley, or events in Crowley's life. Achad's last letter to his friend Handel (1st November 1949; pp.443-446) includes his thoughts on Guirdjieff and Ouspensky, Handel having sent him a copy of Ouspensky's In Search of the Miraculous. Not much trace of monomania in this letter to Handel. I am very happy to discuss this further with you, but as Stephen suggests, we should open a thread on the 'Influence of Achad' board for further discussion. In my experience, most people outside of the occult consider that all occultists are "batty" anyway, so I'm sorry that you say that about another occultist.
