I wonder if anyone has ever tried to give an interpretation of Austin Osman Spare’s "The New Eden". Furthermore, did Spare ever give some sort of explanation for it?

First saw this in Images & Oracles of Austin Osman Spare in the 1970s. It is a very fine and compelling image. Kenneth Grant sent me a postcard of it c.2003. Just doing a quick Google search, I noticed an auction site where the work was described as: The New Eden, The Marriage of Promiscuity - a subtitle that I had not come across before. There is a certain element of inspiration from William Blake's Hecate, or The Night of Enitharmon's Joy, I would say. (Having problems trying to insert the image, have not done it for awhile, but check it out).
