The Typhonian Tradition and Sex Magic.

Hello all,

From my readings of Grant and my lurking of these forums I have come to understand more and more about the Typhonian current, but there is one thing which disheartens me when it comes to the sex magic Grant describes and Western sex magic in general- the emphasis is on heterosexual pairings, or in the case of Grant, the role of the Female entirely.

I am a homosexual, and I have no problem with Grant not agreeing with the efficacy nor legitimacy of homosexual magic, but I am left wondering whether or not some aspects of the Typhonian mysteries and Typhonian current are left inaccessible for those of us who simply don't experience 'energetic enthusiasm' as a result of being exposed to the female form.

My main question is, with the correct instruction/technique, would it be possible for a homosexual coupling to produce the necessary conditions for experiences with 'extraterrestial' intelligence and whether or not we could achieve similar feats and experience similar things without the use of the vaginal vibrations Grant writes about.

I am wondering if there is any source I could be pointed to where this is dealt with (if such a thing has been written)? I of course know of the Paris working, but there is no real explanation of Crowley's technique in that working, only the result which it gained, which was less than satisfactory.

I have looked into the Typhonian order and have come to the conclusion that knowledge they share, if that is the correct phrase, is related to the system of Kalas and the role of the woman, the role of the man being negligible. Is this also true?

I know there is so much more to the Typhonian tradition than sex magick, but I would like to know if anyone who identifies themselves as exploring the Typhonian current and also identifies as homosexual has also experienced contact outside of normal consciousness and whether or not they feel the current is worth pursuing even without the ability to utilise the vaginal kalas?

I suppose I am asking for the opinion of a minority of a minority!

Dear Mark,

I am at the beginning of the path on the Typhonian Tradition of Kenneth Grant, therefore would be risky for me to give you answers on this particular context. (However Cults of the Shadow, pages 100 to 104 might offer you some insight) I am not homosexual either.

However, I can offer you a perspective which I have got on my personal initiation.

This perspective is to think about the universe as the totality of existence. Then, for practical purposes, to separate it on the objective universe and the subjective universe.

The objective universe is the universe itself, while the subjective universe is your interpretation on the objective universe.

So think, what do I want to accomplish with the practice of Sexual Magick?

How does my perception of reality influences my results?

What I am telling is that if you want to accomplish something through the use of Sexual Magick but you do not do actual Sexual Magick because the sources you have studied are limited to heterosexuality and you are not heterosexual, then why don't you try to modify your perception on the issue and test that to see how it works?

So use the same Sexual Magick of Crowley and Grant, apply it as you Will. Follow the rituals to the letter and when the woman appears then change the word for man. Or, if you Will, embrace yourself as the Scarlet Woman, and your partner like the Beast, or vice-versa. Or even from a purely homosexual perspective, you might think on terms of the twin brothers Horus and Set. (No vaginal but anal vibrations)
