Hello all,
I am on the island of Ischia for a few days. As this Island is heavily associated with Typhon I was wondering if someone could point me in the right direction as to where I would find rituals which would align me with the Typhonian current.
Thanks

Go to the highest point of the island Find a sheltered location near there Arrange whatever items of magical power you have with you Meditate Make a fire Go for it

Excellent! I think PW PV 113 has some great advice. Perhaps if you are drawn to it, try out the Lam Serpent Sadhana (http://www.parareligion.ch/dplanet/staley/staley10.htm), or maybe a Typhon evocation from the Greek Magical Papyri? (http://voces-magicae.com/2015/02/25/pgm-iv-154-285-invocation-of-typhon/)
Being in that location, with wild nature surrounding you - make an offering to the local spirits and then ENFLAME THYSELF IN PRAYER!

Compass Point NW. Invoke Angel. Inhale deeply.
Then:
By Bes-na-Maut my breast I beat; By wise Ta-Nech I weave my spell. Show thy star-splendour, O Nuit! Bid Me within thine House to dwell, O winged snake of light, Hadit! Abide with me, Ra-Hoor-Khuit!
This is best done during an electrical storm. It seems that the Typhonian energies involved in this invocation respond well to this stimulus.

What does that do?

I guess the question is do the words alone carry any power?

It is more in the nature of a vigil that this should be seen to manifest. It's ending, or unity, is unique to each individual. A.F

Inspiration comes from within, that part of ourselves which is most in touch with the infinite; in whatever tradition you couch that in; here, the Typhonian so we are reaching back into the stellar current, before the solar cults, that of Kenneth's Trans-plutonian Isis, therefore I agree with the tone of Ad Finem's prayer. Great results can be achieved by the combination of prayer and sacrifice; the form of sacrifice admits of wide interpretation so long as it is pleasing - it does not follow the meaning of former aeons; the sacrifice is of the lower to the higher, that is within yourself - if you are on a mountain top it is the sacrifice of a warm bed for the night for the hardship you endure and the strength you embrace to give unique personal expression to the Will of the Universe at that point in time. These two; the prayer and sacrifice are of course both under the oath. You may employ inhibitory or excitatory methods to get your consciousness to that threshold point. The opening to establish the link; the closing to seal your consciousness. Mmmm, getting restless myself.....goodnight

Both good explanations.
I was curious because I've long been interested in the idea of words, or combinations of words, carrying the potential for reality-hacking. i.e., if the universe - or maybe more aptly, reality as we know and experience it - runs on data, on information, then it may follow that reality can be manipulated via speech/language, the 'logos' (e.g., prayer, chanting, incantations, enchantments, singing, glossolalia, etc). Shamanic traditions, witchcraft, biblical stories, and so on, all seem to point in this direction. Acoustic levitation is another path to go down that may have some parallel here.
If we follow this hypothesis, and indulge the possibility that words can indeed affect reality in some way (objectively or subjectively), I wonder if the significance of gematria is then made very clear?
There's much to say about ritual, spell-casting and so on... do the words and actions carry power alone or does the practitioner need to thoroughly know, and have previously worked very hard to identify with, the principles being utilised (e.g., what or who is Nuit to me? Would there be any difference if I just shouted out 'starry sky goddess!')?
The role of all of the above in the dream realm is something else to explore.
