Long time practitioner and student of "the occult" going on sixteen years now. First started studying early Gnosticism and CG Jung in High School under a mentor-ship of my Lit Teacher, moved on to Golden Dawn work and then Thelemic practices in college. Helped administrate a small lodge here in Texas then and published a few essays on esoterica.
Though having first read Mr. Grant about seven years ago, the particular work Nightside of Eden wasn't at the time very practical to my own studies. I have just now picked up his writings once again and fascination doesn't even begin to explain my current feelings on the subject matter. Almost as if his works are some piece of the puzzle I've felt like I've been missing.
Very recently in the last few months I've had the pleasure to read Magickal Revival, A.C. and the Hidden God, and once again Nightside of Eden. I'm very excited to start Cults of the Shadow once my copy arrives, heard its amazing. Also very interested to take part in this online community and exchange ideas, thoughts and questions - which I know I will have a few of.

Hello leonknox and welcome to the forum. An interesting background you have shared, which should certainly help an appreciation of Grant's work. I think you will enjoy Cults of the Shadow, and highly recommend Nightside of Eden for a fresh read. I had a similar response when I first read it twenty years ago and didn't get it, but revisited it later and it's now one of my favourites, particularly the discursive essays in Part One (such as chapter Three: The Light that is Not, some of his best-ever writing, for me, blew my mind!).
