Grant frequently mentions the book The Sirius Mystery by Robert K. G. Temple in his trilogies, and I have to assume that this was a major influence. Grant seems to agree with the book's main hypothesis... Did you read the book and what are your thoughts?

If you haven't read it, it might be worth your time. |

Much of the original Dogon research has been discredited by anthropologists in recent years. I have my copy of the original abridged paperback edition and Temple is impressive in a Robert Graves The White Goddess sort of way, but like Graves, much of what he has to say is wishful thinking.
We really must address this 'Consciousness came from Sirius' misnomer, one of these fine days. |

Around ten years ago I read two such articles. Some of the information seemed to convincingly discredit some of Temple's research but only some. I'm not a "believer" in aliens from Sirius flying in ships to visit the Dogon, having a background in both the soft and hard sciences, but nevertheless I find that Temple offers a lot of material worthy of reflection. |

We could just rename them "the Dagon tribe", so even the twitchiest, "hardest-headed" skeptic can relax.
