From the Amalantrah Working:
[Sunday] January 20, 1918 [e.v.]
3.00 a.m. (W.T.L.O.O.D.)
I asked the wizard for a message. A large red `A' appeared and an eagle came
through it and flew away through the woods and over some meadows close to the
ground. The eagle disappeared and a red Indian was running like the wind. (Very beautiful as a picture.)
The letter 'A' has a wealth of occult associations, but what struck me in this specific passage was the description. In tantrik Buddhist practices, the letter A is visualized, either in blazing white light or radiant red light, as a means of connecting with the nondual state of Ati yoga, or primordial awakened consciousness.
The letter is usually in Sanskrit, or Tibetan, although sometimes the Latin 'A' is visualized (for example in some Zen settings). The 'A' is the glyph of the true condition of mind, and of the mind of the Guru figure. By performing this practice, one is in the same state at the same time as the Guru, in a nondual state that may rightly be described as "outside the circles of [space and] time".
The eagle is also interesting. Could this be related to the Egyptian hieroglyphic for the letter 'A'? Usually this is a Vulture, which brings to mind Maat and the mysteries of Ipsos. Vultures and eagles are both associated with the element of air, the breathe.
"A red indian running like the wind" to me brings up associations with the Eastern mysteries, as well as the ruby radiance of the spectral honey the Talam, of the Mass of Maat. The wind is breath, ruach, again associated with the Hebrew letter Aleph, the alpha, the beginning, the letter 'A'
Lam is described as both The Guru and The Way. Visualizing the image of Lam on the body at the position of the Guru (above the top of the head, or at the forehead) while vibrating the vowel 'A', does seem to have powerful applications
