In the essay "The Lam Statement" found in Ecpyrosis: Best of Starfire we read:
The invocation of Lam should be performed only in a fully protected Circle, which involves Banishing in the Eight Directions of Space with the Lesser Banishing Ritual of the Pentagram of Earth, followed by the Invoking Ritual of the Hexagram of Earth.
It's been decades since performing any hexagram rituals and I'm hoping somebody can provide some feedback. Does one, when performing the Invoking Ritual of the Hexagram of Earth, use the invoking hexagram of Earth in ALL of the quarters? Or does one only invoke Earth in the South and banish elements in each of the other quarters (e.g. banish Fire in the East, Air in the West, etc)?
I recall, although it's been a long time and my memory is foggy, that in some instances (such as invoking planetary influences) that ONLY the hexagram of Earth is used. Many thanks in advance for any feedback.

I think you will find there is some variance in usage. I've always preferred to only use only the element in question when working with the Lesser Ritual of the Hexagram (ie, use only the invoking hexagram of earth in each quarter). That said, I would encourage you to experiment and see what works best for you

You might be thinking of the Greater Ritual of the Hexagram in this regard. In that form, you only use the Earth hexagram (or some use the Unicursal), but your starting angle is based on the planet (or, or zodiacal workings, the angel of the planet associated with the zodical sign).
