I have arranged with Christina at Treadwells to present a talk on 4th July. The subject will be the foundations of the Typhonian Trilogies.
Though the Trilogies were first published across a span of thirty years from the publication of The Magical Revival in 1972, the foundations for the Trilogies were laid by Grant's diverse studies and experience during the preceding decades. These ranged from his contacts with Crowley in the 1940s; his friendship with Spare from 1949 until Spare's death in 1956; relations with Crowley's successor, Karl Germer from 1948 until the formation of New Isis Lodge in 1955; Grant's immersion in Advaita Vedanta during the 1950s; and the production of the Carfax Monographs from the late 1950s to the early 1960s.
During the early 1950s Grant embarked on a study of Spare's mysticism and sorcery. Though unpublished, it formed the basis for the early version of Images & Oracles of Austin Osman Spare which was to have been published in the mid 1960s by Trigram Press. Though the publication never materialised, some of this material later formed the basis of the two chapters on Spare's work published in The Magical Revival.
This talk is intended as an introduction to a further three talks, each taking one of the trilogies. The dates of these further talks have not yet been set, but will be announced once they have.

That sounds great Michael! Sorry that I will be on the wrong side of the pond to attend (is that anything like being in Universe B? I suppose not...)

Any chance of live-streaming this talk? Or maybe record and post here on the forum?

Any chance of live-streaming this talk? Or maybe record and post here on the forum? An audio post would be brilliant, and live-stream even better, particularly for those of us here in the US! Also (just to add to Michael's workload), perhaps a transcript that might, perhaps, find its way into the ethersphere via someplace like the Koenig site. Happy to chip in with the typing!

I understand the great interest in this talk, and in fact would have been very surprised and disappointed if there weren't that interest.
I will speak to Christina at Treadwells, but I doubt that there will be a live streaming. Live talks are about the atmosphere in the hall at the time. I will though make the material available, possibly as a document available on this forum. On the other hand, there is only so much information that can be imparted via a talk or presentation; it can only be a summary of the the information that I have built up over the last few months whilst reaearching for the first volume of Selected Letters. It might be better for me to work up an expanded version of the talk.
Rest assurec that I will make the material widely available. However, in what media is something I haven't yet decided will be best.
