Grant described Eastern Mysticism as his first love, and he immersed himself in Advaita in the early 1950s, devoted to such sages as Ramana Maharshi, Thakur Haranath and Anandamayi Ma amongst others, writing articles for Asian journals throughout the 1950s and 1960s, many of which were subsequently published in At the Feet of the Guru. In November 1950, Grant made typed copies for Gerald Yorke of much of the correspondence between Yorke and Achad in 1948/49. As the series of the Typhonian Trilogies progressed, Grant re-evaluated Achad's work, becoming increasingly interested in the Incoming of the Aeon of Maat on 2nd April 1948. Grant wrote these throughout his career, ranging from a Forward to the attempted publication in 1948 of Crowley’s Liber Aleph, through to the articles on Indian Mysticism published in Asian Jornals from the early 1950s onwards, articles for the International Times in the late 1960s, and essays and shorter pieces for Man, Myth and Magic in the 1970s.
